Artist In Residence - June in Idaho
A unique and exciting opportunity has presented itself and I look forward with great anticipation to all that it offers. On May 30th I will leave Bloomington and travel to the Monastery of St. Gertrude, located outside of Cottonwood, Idaho. There I will participate in the life of this Benedictine Monastery as their Artist In Residence Volunteer for the month of June. For more information on this welcoming community, here is their web address: https://www.stgertrudes.org/
Following is a description of the opportunity from the Monastery website:
"The Artist Residency at St. Gertrude is a month-long opportunity for
women visual artists, musicians and writers to spend time with their
practices in a monastic setting amidst the Benedictine Sisters of
Cottonwood, Idaho. You will live in the Monastery, joining the community
in meals and other aspects of community life. You will be provided with
studio space and your residency should conclude with an informal
presentation of your work to the monastic community."
I will certainly be sharing this experience through words and images as it unfolds. I am grateful for the opportunity and the ways that life offers fascinating doors through which to enter enriching experiences. Stay tuned...
